Will rain clean my solar panels?
Yes and no. When it does rain here in Southern California it will rinse the top layer of loose dirt off but will not clean all the sun baked dirt and grime off. This is why agitating the dirt and grime with a brush is very important to having them produce efficiently and more importantly protecting your investment.
What is deionized water?
Can solar panels be cleaned by homeowners?
Of course you can clean them yourself, a few things to think about, do you feel comfortable getting on your roof, do you have the necessary equipment, ladders, ladder stabilizers, safety harness, etc. Using water from your hose will result in hard water spots left on panels which in the end blocks the cells ability to harness the full power of the sun. Choosing the wrong brush will either have too soft or too hard of bristles resulting in a lack of cleaning or scratching the glass making them less efficient. Lastly, we understand that your time is very valuable, let us cross a thing or two off of your checklist while saving you money!
